Core Purpose

We recognize that applying to advanced degree and credential programs can be daunting, requiring time, resources, and organization. We aim to help demystify the process of exploring, preparing for, and applying to graduate, professional, and credential programs through sharing information, highlighting tips and strategies, and providing reflective, investigative, and organizational activities.

Chelsi Florence

Chelsi Florence, M.A.  

Chelsi Florence is the coordinator of Pre-Graduate/Law Advising, which is part of the Student Success Pathways. Chelsi is delighted to serve and work with students through teaching, research mentorship, and now pre-graduate/law advising. She is thrilled to be in a position to offer support to aspiring graduate, law, and professional students in reaching their goals and demystifying the application process. Mariana Olivo-Urbina

Mariana is a doctoral student in Education; her research focuses on increasing the representation and success of Latino students in STEM fields. As a pre-grad student advisor, she is committed to offering personalized advice and support to help students reach their academic goals. Outside of work, Mariana enjoys crafting with her Cricut, bringing her creative ideas to life! 

Jordan Brown-Burd

Jordan Brown-Burd

Born and raised in Sacramento, Jordan is a former Fresno State soccer student-athlete now tackling her 2L year at UC Davis with an interest in corporate and business law. Because her own journey was shaped by an amazing support system, she is passionate about paying it forward and serving as an uplifting mentor for incoming pre-law students. When she isn't buried in the books, she loves pushing her limits with long-distance running, relaxing with her family, watching movies, and discovering great eats.

Helen Zapata

Helen Zapata is a third-year law student at UC Davis School of Law with an interest in public interest law, particularly health, immigration, and access-to-justice issues. She earned her B.A. in English with a minor in Civic Engagement from UCLA and worked in nonprofit legal services and higher education before law school. As a first-generation law student, Helen is passionate about helping students navigate the law school admissions process and pursue meaningful legal careers. In her free time, she enjoys trying new coffee shops, traveling, and spending time in nature.

Audrey Tang

Audrey Tang

  • Pre-Graduate/Law Student Assistant 

Audrey is a fourth-year undergraduate student, majoring in Sociology and minoring in Political Science.  She was born and raised in the Bay Area. On campus, she is involved with the Sociology Student Association and the Lotus Mana Center. After graduation, she is hoping to pursue a career in policy and research in the government or non-profit sector. Outside of school, she enjoys baking, thrifting, taking pictures of her food, and traveling the world.

Aubrey Reyes

Graphic Design and Digital Media Assistant

Aubrey is a first-year undergraduate student, majoring in Computer Science and Engineering. She was born and raised in the Los Angeles area. On campus, she is also involved with HackDavis and the Vietnamese Student Association. She wants to explore the overlap of design and computer science. Outside of class, she enjoys crocheting, reading, and trying new foods.
